WHAT: LGBTQIA+ community and allies, join Willamette Riverkeeper as we celebrate Pride with a sunset paddle on the Willamette River! Our group will be circumnavigating Ross Island - a trip that offers unique views of the city, as well as a quiet nature escape.
WHERE: Meet us at Willamette Park in SW Portland: 6500 S Macadam Ave. Portland, OR 97219. Parking is available at the park for $1/hour. Restrooms are available in the park. Our group will be launching from and returning to the same location.
WHEN: Tuesday, June 14 from 5 - 8:30pm. Participants should be ready to participate in our safety chat and start getting on the water right at 5pm.
DETAILS: Please pack along your paddle craft, PFD, whistle, water, a snack, weather appropriate clothing, your dry bag, ...and your pride gear of course! We will have cold kombuchas from Brew Dr Kombucha to pass out throughout the event.
Don't have a boat? Borrow one of ours! Willamette Riverkeeper has a limited supply of tandem canoes available for no charge. Each canoe seats 2 people and comes with 2 paddles and 2 PFDs. These must be reserved in advance through this registration page. You must register with a paddling partner, NOT as an individual if you are borrowing a Willamette Riverkeeper boat.
*Participants should be comfortable paddling consistantly for 2 - 2.5 hours.
*PFDs are required to be worn for the duration of this on water event.
