WHAT: Join Willamette Riverkeeper, Friends of Trees and Portland Parks and Recreation for an educational paddle and tree talk at Ross Island in Portland.
WHERE & WHEN: Wednesday, October 27 from 9am - 12pm. We will meet in the gravel parking lot and launch at the Holman Dock in SE Portland. This is just south of the Hawthorne Bridge.
DETAILS: Unload your boat in the paved parking lot off of Water Ave, just south of Clay St. This is a private lot and you will need to move your car to the visitor parking or street parking. We will be launching from the Holman Dock and paddling to Ross Island. Along the way, Friends of Trees will discuss native plants along the shore, as well as aquatic plants we come across. When we land at Ross Island, we will continue our tree talk.
Please pack along water, weather appropriate clothing, your dry bag and face mask! All attendees must wear masks at all times while we are on land, and adhere to local Covid mandates.
This is a BYO-boat event, however, Willamette Riverkeeper has 2 canoes available for use at this event - these are first come first serve. If you are using a Willamette Riverkeeper canoe, you must come with a paddling partner.
*This event will also be live streamed on IG. All participants must be comfortable with the potential of being filmed.
