WHAT: Bring your own boat or reserve a seat in one of ours! Join Willamette Riverkeeper River Guardians volunteers and get dirty for GOOD, helping to clean up riverbanks and island as we float from Alton Baker to Valley River Center.
WHEN & WHERE: Tuesday, November 9th, 8:30am - 1pm and floating down to Vallery River Center Boat Ramp. Volunteers will meet at Valley River Center for a shuttle to the put-in at Alton Baker. Park behind the Regal Cinemas near the tan shed just off the bike path, against the river.
BYO Boats: please unload your gear at the Alton Baker Boat ramp by 8:15am and drive to VRC parking by 8:45am for the shuttle back to Alton Baker Park. WR will have extra volunteers on hand to boatsit for those running shuttles.) We are planning to launch at 9:15am after a safety talk, and arrive at the VRC Boat Ramp at 12:30pm to unload trash and clean boats. Plan to be finished at 1pm.
Masks will be worn on the shuttle, with windows down, or you may opt to run your own shuttle - it's all good with us, either way!
DETAILS: Please wear weather appropriate clothing, pack along water, a face mask to be worn during check in and when working in close proximity to others, work gloves if you have them and sturdy close toed shoes. We will provide trash bags, non-latex gloves, trash pickers, and PFDs for those without. Limited seating in rafts available. Class 2 paddling experience and helmets are strongly recommended for small watercraft. PFDS REQUIRED.
