WHAT: Join Willamette Riverkeeper and Oregon Parks and Recreation Department for an afternoon of clearing out an aquatic invasive species, ludwigia, tangled up in log jams that was brought in by our high water events this winter. This work is urgent as ludwigia is quite fruitful and can easily spread via plant fragments.
WHEN: Saturday, February 5 from 1 - 3pm. After our restoration work, Willamette Riverkeeper will be hosting an optional tour of our restoation planting sites.
WHERE: We will be meeting inside Willamette Mission State Park, at the Mission Lake Boat Ramp. No need to pay upon entry, free parking for this work event. See photo below for park map.
DETAILS: Dress for the weather by wearing warm clothing and close toed shoes. Good tread, waterproof shoes preferable. Please bring loppers and/or own hand clippers, work gloves if you have them, water, snacks if needed and your face mask. Willamette Riverkeeper will have some gloves and clippers on hand to borrow. Masks required during check in and when working in close proximity to others.
Minors are welcome to join this event with an attentive adult who can sign their participation waiver and be present at the event.
