Please join Willamette Riverkeeper River Guardians and Eugene REC on Trashy Tuesday, 8AM-1PM, March 8, 2022*, to float downstream from Aspen Street in Springfield to the Alton Baker boat ramp, picking up trash and debris. Your efforts will help enhance water quality, wildlife habitat, and improve the overall safety and enjoyment of our beautiful Willamette River.
BYOB PLEASE MEET AT 8:00AM at the Aspen (aka: D Street) boat ramp to shuttle our vehicles to Alton Baker using Covid-safe City shuttle transport. Turn south off Martin Luther King / Centennial Blvd. on Aspen and follow the gravel road past the upper parking area to the boat ramp.
RESERVED A SEAT in one of our boats? Please meet us at the Alton Baker boat ramp lot by 8:30AM to shuttle back to the put-in so your care is at the takeout, end of day. (Please note you will not be back to your car before 1pm. Please plan accordingly.)
All BYOB paddlers must be able to adequately paddle in Class 2 moving water. NO BOAT? NO WORRIES - your RSVP will reserve a seat in a raft or driftboat. Because we will be working from the water, PFDs are REQUIRED, and can be provided by Willamette Riverkeeper as indicated in the registration.
BRING: Mask, snacks, water and appropriate layers for the weather. Closed-toe shoes REQUIRED for safety; long sleeves and pants preferred for protection against scrapes, scratches and poison oak. PFDs for those without, gloves, pickers, garbage bags, tools, tarps will be provided. Expect to follow all Covid safety requiresments for use of masks and social distancing.
*WRK may change time/site for this effort due to high water conditions and safety. We will do our best to inform you ASAP should this be a consideration.
