Join Restoration Coordinator, Marci Krass, along with our partners at Oregon State Parks for a morning bike tour of our landscape scale floodplain reforestation project that is currently working to restore over 600 acres of habitat at Willamette Mission State Park.
This natural area is located just 20 min north of Salem on the banks of the Willamette River. One of the most significant and beautiful historic sites in the Willamette Valley, this park also boasts one of the largest tracts of floodplain forest. Using the paved and mulched trails we'll bike through the North Forest (75 acres) and Beaver Island (207 acres) management units. Learn more about floodplain forest habitat and the important role it provides for diverse fish and wildlife species.
We'll meet at the Filbert Grove Picnic Shelter at 9:00 am. Following the bike ride you are invited to join us back at the Filbert Grove Picnic Shelter for a brown bag picnic lunch. Families are welcome. REGISTER HERE
