Portland: Cathedral Park Cleanup

  • Cathedral Park N Edison & Pittsburg AVE Portland, OR 97203 (map)

WHAT: Join Willamette Riverkeeper for an on water cleanup event launching from Cathedral Park in North Portland.

WHEN & WHERE: Thursday, June 9 from 4 - 7pm. We will gather near the boat launch at Cathedral Park, located on the north side of the St Johns Bridge. *We will be launching and returning to the same site.

DETAILS: Our group will launch from Cathedral Park, paddle up river and get out of our boats to work at our land based cleanup location. Participants will need to navigate uneven terrain. Pack along water, weather appropriate gear, your paddle craft, PFD, a change of clothes (should you take an unintended swim), work gloves if you have them and sturdy close toed shoes. Willamette Riverkeeper will provide trash bags, non-latex gloves and trash pickers.

Restrooms are available on site.

Don't have a boat? No problem, borrow one of ours! We have a limited supply of tandem canoes available. Each boat will also come with two PFDs and paddles. You must bring your own paddling partner if you intend to borrow a boat. These are first come first serve.

This event is suitable for participants 18 and older or 16+ with a parent/guardian.
