Watershed Moments: A Paddling Community Storytelling & Film Night

Please join Oregon Paddle Sports and Willamette Riverkeeper for a connective, fun, and maybe somewhat thrilling, humorous, and/or grounding experience as we share and listen to paddling adventures from members of our local community! Bring your own camp chair, or borrow one of ours on a first-come, first-served basis.

Do you have a story to share? Oregon Paddle Sports and Willamette Riverkeeper are teaming up to bring our paddling community together to learn, share, and connect over our love for our rivers, lakes, creeks, and ocean. As a paddling participant - whether you are an athlete, fisherperson, or someone who just loves the quiet solitude of paddling in nature - we all have memories, lessons learned, and experiences that have shaped who we are and our relationship with each other and the greater watershed.

Please RSVP HERE to share your story at an upcoming "Watershed Moments" (what we hope to be) monthly gathering. Stories will be limited to 10 minutes and can be accomodated with accompanying media - slide shows, short videos, PP presentations - we will have a screen, laptap, television, and speakers available for use.

We can only accommodate between 3-4 speakers each evening, but we will make every effort to accommodate everyone who wants to share a story as we have capacity to offer this event. Thank you for being open to stepping up to the mic!

Thursday, January 25th: Tonight we will hear stories from Peter Marquardt and Lee Baker. Peter will reveal an unusual experience and an unexpected “thank you” while paddling the Inside Passage at a First Nations Cemetary Island in Canada, during an 800 mile kayak trip from Ketchikan to Bellingham. Lee will tell us all about finding a mysterious package on the Owyhee - a “magical tube” in a special place!
