Willamette Riverkeeper On-Water Safety Training Weekend

CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS! Every year as part of our mission we offer different ways to connect people to the River, from River Discovery trips to aquatic invasive weed pulls to on water trash cleanups. All of these events on the water need the additional support of skilled paddlers. If you have solid moving water, leadership and rescue skills we would like you to consider joining us on our Safety Training Weekend April 29th-30th. This free Safety Training Weekend is a chance to fine tune your skills, get some time on the Willamette, and share your knowledge with fellow paddlers.

This training also helps us know if you are ready to be a Safety Boater or Pod Leader for our overnight events, such as Pinot Paddle or Paddle Oregon. You will be offered a discounted registration, for which you will be offered a major discount in exchange for volunteering.

If you cannot attend the safety training or one of our overnight events we still have day trips that often need safety boaters. We also have need for volunteers on land to help with registration, camp set up and/or driving shuttle vehicles! If this sounds like something you would prefer we most likely have a role for you so please reach out if you are interested!

Please register for our Safety Training Weekend here http://bit.ly/3yNWzU0 or email [email protected] with a brief description of your paddling experience and skills training or certifications so that we may still consider a volunteer position that suits you and helps fill a need in our programs.
